Assess organizational training needs and consult with managers, subject matter experts (SMEs), and stakeholders to design appropriate training solutions. Develop and update training materials, including guides, activities, assessments, and multimedia content using adult‑learning principles. Plan and facilitate New Employee Orientation and interpersonal skills training, including scheduling, logistics, and participant registration. Deliver supervisory, managerial, and executive‑level training using varied instructional methods and collaboration with SMEs. Evaluate training effectiveness through surveys, performance data, and feedback, and recommend improvements. Maintain accurate records, training reports, schedules, and documentation for DAS reporting and agency compliance. Benefits Medical coverage. Qualifications To qualify, you must clearly demonstrate: Completion of an associate core program in instructional design, adult learning, education, instructional technology, or a related field. Or 18 months of experience preparing and delivering informational and instructional programs for adults using an instructional design model and doing and analyzing performance needs assessments. Or equivalent of the minimum class qualifications noted above. Salary Information: Hourly wage is expected to be paid at step 1 of the pay range associated with the position for candidates who are new employees of the state. Current employees of the state will be placed in the appropriate step based on any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code. Movement to the next step of the pay range (a roughly 4% increase) will occur after six months, assuming job performance is acceptable. Thereafter, an employee will advance one step in the pay range every year until the highest step of the pay range is reached. There may also be cost of living adjustments (COLA) and longevity supplements beginning after five (5) years of state service. Transportation: The position may require travel; therefore, the person occupying this position must be able to provide their own transportation and/or legally operate a state-owned vehicle.
