Job Description & Requirements Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit Discipline: RN Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, days Employment Type: Travel Facility Name: Swain County • Facility Department/Cost Center: Medical Surgical • Role (RN, Tech, LPN, PT, etc.): RN • Specialty: Progressive Care • Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 • Weekend Hours: Weekend rotate – If traveler needs weekend shifts, it can be accommodated • Call Requirements: None • Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS • Years of Experience: 2 years • Float Requirements: Float potential between Swain and Harris Regional on Med-Surg or equivalent nursing experience Unit Information: • Number of Beds: 17 • Patient Ratios: 1:6 max ratio • EHR: Paragon • Patient Population e.g. “geriatric, adult, peds, etc.”: 18 with most being 65 Hiring Profile: • Must Have Skills/Experience: PICC/CVC management, wound care • Additional Notes: This is a 17-bed unit in a critical access hospital that emphasizes teamwork. This med-surg unit provides inpatient, observation, and swing bed services. They do not perform surgeries in the building. There is a strong presence of PT/OT/Speech, RT, and 24-hour provider coverage, along with 24-hour CT, X-Ray, and lab available.
