Responsibilities include preparing, packaging, labeling, and distributing unit-dose medications, outpatient prescriptions, and stock orders; delivering medications and supplies to patient care areas; and supporting proper storage, rotation, and inventory practices. The technician documents work and use pharmacy information systems and departmental tools as trained and may be assigned to central pharmacy and/or specialized areas based on operational needs. The role also includes auditing medication storage areas, escalating discrepancies, and handling controlled substances per departmental policy.
