Job Description Nevada State University invites applications for the position ofEarly Childhood Center Director. This is a 12-month AdministrativeFaculty position. The Director is responsible for developing andoverseeing the Nevada State University Early Childhood Education(ECE) Center on campus. This position is responsible for thedevelopment of program policies, procedures, goals and budget, aswell as strategies for implementation of cohesive philosophy,mission and operational procedures for the operation. The Director will be licensed by the state of Nevada ChildcareBureau as a Director and the State of Nevada Department ofEducation as a Private School Administrator. The children's early care and education programs operate within theSchool of Education with a multi-faceted mission: Provide high quality, model early care and education programsfor children 3 -5. Provide Nevada State University students studying earlychildhood education model sites for observation and practice. Provide support to Nevada State University students who areparents with high quality childcare at a reduced rate-thussupporting completion of studies. Operate as model program for community partnerships. The Center is a tuition-based program, licensed for approximately60 children ages 3-5 years old. It employs approximately 25employees - classified, professional, student employees, andwork-study students. This position provides leadership within theCenter through administrative support and oversight and initiallyis directly responsible for the daily operations of the Center.This position will offer leadership and direction to ensure thesuccess and credibility of the Center's work within the communityand the reputation of Nevada State University. This position works closely with the School of Education to provideclinical experiences for students studying in the field ofeducation, early childhood education, and related disciplines,while providing educational experiences for children of students,faculty, and the comm unity. Approximately 850 hours of observationand/or practicum hours are logged each semester for Nevada StateUniversity students studying education, early childhood education,and related disciplines. Primary Responsibilities: Program Development and Implementation. Employee Management. Facility Management. Fiscal Management; Budget/Financial Components of the EarlyChildhood Center. Support Program Participants including children attending thecenter, Nevada State students, parents, and various collaboratingpartners/entities. Develops and provides oversight of administrative proceduresfor: Marketing and recruiting students Communicating with parents Enrollment procedures Billing and collection procedures Financial record keeping procedures Procedures for regulatory compliance Time and leave keeping procedures Program correspondence/communication (handbooks, administrativemanuals, etc.) Alignment with SOE and OOE guidelines Required Qualifications: Master's degree in Early Childhood/Early Childhood SpecialEducation or a closely related field. Teaching experience in Early Childhood/Early Childhood SpecialEducation settings. Experience directing and/or serving in a significant leadershiprole in an early childhood center. Familiarity with current trends in early childhood education,program accreditation standards, and program assessmentprocesses. Preferred Qualifications: Previous supervisory/management experience. Experience working in variety of clinical service deliverysettings and with multiple age levels. Bilingual (Spanish and English). Salary & Benefits Budgeted salary for this position is $86,445. Nevada StateUniversity offers excellent benefits, including 19.25% retirementmatch, 24 annual leave days, beginning balance of 30 sick leavedays, 12 paid holidays, educational benefits, and three healthinsurance plans that can be supplemented with flexible spendingaccounts or health savings accounts.
