Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse in Milwaukee, WI. This position involves providing urgent and critical care within a Level IV Trauma Center at a busy teaching hospital. The role requires delivering high-quality patient care to a diverse population, including neonates to geriatrics, with an emphasis on trauma and emergent conditions.
Job Details
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC.
- Education Requirements: Appropriate nursing degree or licensure for ER practice.
- Location Requirements: Milwaukee, WI.
- Experience: 3 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience in a fast-paced facility.
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, day shifts.
- Patient Types: Neonate to Geriatrics, trauma cases including gunshot wounds, stabbings, falls, MVC.
- Patient Ratios: Day & Night 1:4 (acuity based); Fast Track 1:6.
- Skills Required: Cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV skills, basic knowledge of critical care drips and medication administration, NIHSS experience, TPA administration, blood administration, procedural sedation, code blue experience.
- Support on the Unit: Unit secretary 24/7; ED Tech 24/7; Charge nurse; Phlebotomy; RT 24/7; ED Physicians 24/7; Mid-Level providers 24/7; ED Educator; OT, PT, ST; Security; Central and bedside telemetry monitoring.
- Charting System/Equipment: EPIC, Alaris, Pyxis.
- Orientation: (2) 12-hour shifts on unit.
- Scheduling: Shift times dependent on requisition; weekend rotation every other week; no call required; approval for time off through designated contact.
- Other Notes: Scrub color any professional color; free parking in designated employee areas.
