A well-established commercial glazing contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager / Estimator to join its team in the Fredericksburg, VA market. The company specializes in commercial glass and glazing projects, working with general contractors, developers, architects, and owners across a range of commercial construction projects.

This is a hands-on position combining estimating, project management, client coordination, and project execution . The successful candidate will be involved from the initial bid through project completion, ensuring projects are accurately priced, properly coordinated, and delivered successfully.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates and proposals for commercial glazing projects.
• Review architectural drawings, specifications, bid documents, and addenda.
• Perform detailed material and labor takeoffs.
• Price storefront, curtain wall, entrances, windows, glass, and related glazing systems.
• Manage awarded projects from contract through completion.
• Coordinate submittals, RFIs, material procurement, change orders, and project documentation.
• Monitor project budgets, schedules, costs, and profitability.
• Coordinate closely with general contractors, architects, suppliers, subcontractors, and field installation teams.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing.
• Identify project scope, exclusions, risks, and potential change-order opportunities.
• Attend project meetings and maintain regular communication with customers and project stakeholders.
• Ensure materials and equipment are ordered and delivered in line with project schedules.
• Assist with project closeout, punch lists, and final documentation.
• Maintain strong relationships with existing customers while supporting future business opportunities.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in commercial glazing estimating and/or project management.
• Strong knowledge of commercial glazing systems, including curtain wall, storefront, entrances, windows, and architectural glass.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
• Experience with takeoffs, estimating, pricing, procurement, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Strong understanding of commercial construction processes.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and bids simultaneously.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant estimating/project management software.
