Registered Dietitian – Full-Time Facility: Cypress Garden Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation Position: Registered Dietitian Location: Queens Employment Type: Full-Time Salary: $40–$45 per hour Job Summary Cypress Garden Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Dietitian to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional nutritional care to residents, develop individualized dietary plans, and support overall wellness within our skilled nursing facility. This role requires strong clinical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to resident-centered care. Key Responsibilities Assess residents’ nutritional needs, dietary preferences, and nutritional risks. Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans. Coordinate dietary services with nursing, social services, activities, and environmental services departments. Ensure all menus, therapeutic diets, and dietary procedures comply with physician orders and regulatory requirements. Participate in state and federal surveys and assist with corrective action plans when necessary. Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and resident dietary records. Supervise dietary and food service staff to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Utilize the Resident Assessment Instrument (MDS) to develop and review dietary plans of care. Provide nutrition education and counseling to residents and family members. Ensure substitute meals of equal nutritional value are provided when residents decline scheduled meals. Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect residents’ rights and confidentiality at all times. Attend interdisciplinary meetings, care plan conferences, and departmental committees as required. Qualifications Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Dietitian license in New York. Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field from an accredited institution. Minimum of 2 years of Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or nursing home experience preferred. Strong knowledge of therapeutic diets, clinical nutrition, food service management, and regulatory compliance. Experience with SigmaCare and GeriMenu systems preferred. Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. Requirements Prior nursing home or SNF experience required. Ability to interpret food service cost reports and financial data. Experience with cost control, food management, and therapeutic dietary planning. Strong understanding of state and federal dietary regulations within long-term care settings. Why Join Our Team?
