Career Overview The Loan Officer Associate assists Loan Officers while developing skills and knowledge to become a Loan Officer in the future. The role includes online and classroom educational sessions and operational and hands‑on training with Loan Officers and Division Managers. Responsibilities Participate in formal training programs covering lending, loan types, credit assessment, and the approval process. Learn to price and lock loans using mortgage rate sheets and review daily, weekly, and monthly reports to understand the overall mortgage process. Complete testing and obtain mortgage licensing and any required state licenses; maintain RESPA knowledge through continuing education. Update loan applications with missing data and maintain notes in the Loan Origination System to ensure complete information exchange. Assist with initial file set‑up and coordinate with processors and closers to procure loan documents. Develop and maintain relationships with builders and realtors, and support local marketing campaigns. Act as primary contact between borrowers and Loan Officers, managing communication via phone, email, or chat and scheduling meetings. Provide customer service across all channels and respond promptly to inquiries. Support internal associates and maintain a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings as needed. Toolbox High school diploma or equivalent (BA or BS preferred). Morgage or banking experience preferred. Experience in articulating product or service features, benefits, and value. Strong customer‑centric attitude and passion for exceeding expectations. Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Compensation & Benefits Hourly rate: $16.20 – $21, plus potential bonuses and commissions.
