About the Role

The Company is seeking a Vice President, Chief Development Officer to lead its strategic fundraising and external engagement efforts. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, responsible for the oversight of all revenue-generating activities and for ensuring the long-term sustainability of the organization. This role requires a visionary leader with a collaborative mindset, capable of driving a cohesive and strategic approach to fundraising, brand positioning, and community engagement. The VP, CDO will be accountable for developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, leading a high-performing team, and fostering a culture of philanthropy both within the organization and the community. Key responsibilities for the VP, CDO include supporting the President and CEO in strategic planning, leading a diversified revenue strategy, and providing executive oversight of major gifts, institutional giving, and donor relations. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years' of progressive nonprofit fundraising experience, a passion for the mission of the organization, and a proven track record in major gifts and campaign leadership. They should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess strong strategic thinking, relationship-building, and communication skills. The role also involves mentoring and developing the development team, ensuring best-in-class donor stewardship practices, and representing the organization at various events. A Bachelor's degree is required, with an advanced degree preferred, and the candidate should be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
