Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) nursing position located at a busy urban facility. The role involves providing high-quality emergency care in a trauma level four environment, managing a diverse patient population with common ED and urgent care complaints. The nurse will participate in procedures, patient stabilization, and collaborate with physicians and mid-level providers to deliver exceptional emergency services.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Rotating shifts, with variable hours including 7a-7p, 7:30a-7:30p, 10a-10p, or 7p-7a, totaling 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Certifications including Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (AHA), Basic Life Support (AHA), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (AHA), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC). A valid license to practice as a registered nurse is required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in trauma, pediatrics, sepsis, STEMI, stroke, procedural sedation, and code blue / resuscitations. Ability to perform common drips such as vasopressors and anti-arrhythmics is preferred.
• Additional Information: The ER handles an average of 40-100 patients daily depending on the season. Nurses work with both physicians and mid-level providers, and may need to set up ventilators when respiratory therapists are unavailable. The unit includes a dedicated behavioral health room, and the department operates a 12-bed Urgent Care within the ED. Shift assignments include holiday, weekend, and mid-shift rotations, with on-call or standby requirements not in place. On occasion, staff may support other units as needed.
