Senior Staff Accountant

Opening its doors over 45 years ago, FSSI is a leading document outsourcing company servicing Fortune 500 companies in the financial, banking, insurance and billing industries across the U.S. We are currently looking for an on-site Senior Staff Accountant with strong technical accounting expertise and a highly analytical, systems-savvy mindset to join our team in Santa Ana, CA. This role is responsible for core accounting functions including account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, audit support, and preparation of financial reports. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accountant who is curious, proactive, and comfortable leveraging technology to improve process and reporting. This role may provide guidance to accounting staff. This role requires full-time, onsite presence, Monday through Friday, at our Santa Ana, CA location.

Your Essential Duties:

• Ensure compliance with FSSI's established accounting policies while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and controls
• Consistently demonstrate ownership of monthly bank and balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring timely and accurate completion
• Prepare month end closing journal entries
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statement package
• Partner with department leaders to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Analyze financial results and identify trends
• Ensure accuracy of fixed asset system, which includes reconciliation to general ledger and monthly recording of depreciation expense
• Provide guidance and support for accounts payable & accounts receivable functions, as needed
• Assist with all external audits
• Maintain confidentiality of financial information
• Perform other duties as assigned
