About The Role Recreation & Fitness Coordinator in Covington, KY — Full‑time, 40 hours per week. Bring your energy to design and deliver engaging recreation and fitness programs, foster a welcoming atmosphere, and support a variety of fitness offerings for participants. Schedule Monday–Friday, 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.; occasional shift flexibility; no weekends. What Makes This Role Stand Out Opportunity to earn additional income through personal training commissions. Key Accountabilities Oversee all programming, development, design, implementation and evaluation of recreation programs. Promote recreation and other program offerings and conduct outreach activities to increase participation. Create and maintain league and tournament brackets. Supervise recreation program and facilities; interact with participants and monitor equipment and participant safety. Perform recreation maintenance responsibilities; ensure facilities and equipment are functional and stocked. Provide individual and group exercise instruction and educate participants on proper techniques. Additional duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation Management, Sports Management or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications and experience. Current First Aid and CPR/AED certifications from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, National Safety Council or American Safety & Health Institute. Industry‑recognized Group Exercise certification from ACE, AFAA/NASM, ACSM, NCCPT or NETA, or required within 3 months if not current. NCCA Accredited Personal Trainer certification from an approved agency, required within 1 year if not current. Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience in running leagues and creating tournament brackets. Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to meet program needs. Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills. Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
