Procurement Specialist

The Procurement Specialist supports manufacturing and business operations by procuring materials, equipment, and services; issuing controlled materials; and assisting with supplier onboarding. This position partners with internal customers and suppliers to complete work accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with company requirements. The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution from strategic capital investments, industrial operations and an efficient supply chain, to state-of-the-art manufacturing and test operations and top-notch facilities management.

What You'll Do:

• Support manufacturing, engineering, development, and business operations by processing indirect procurement requests for materials, equipment, and services.
• Provide responsive customer support, proactive communication, and timely follow-up throughout the procurement process.
• Coordinate with suppliers to obtain quotations, place orders, expedite deliveries, and support on-time fulfillment of operational needs.
• Assist with onboarding suppliers that are not yet approved or established in corporate systems by coordinating required documentation and stakeholder reviews.
• Investigate supplier discrepancies, returns, damaged shipments, invoice issues, and other procurement concerns.
• Issue paint and other controlled materials to program shop orders using established systems and procedures.
• Support inventory accuracy, material traceability, lot control, shelf-life management, and required transaction documentation.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and other functions to align activities with business priorities.
• Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
• Knowledge of procurement processes, purchasing practices, and supplier coordination.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to build productive cross-functional relationships.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to work independently while exercising sound business judgment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management or a related field.
• Familiarity with IFS or similar ERP systems and shop-order or inventory transactions.
• Background supporting manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, or another regulated environment.
• Experience with controlled, shelf-life-limited, or expired materials.
• Demonstrated ability to document processes and develop standard work instructions.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement principles.

Pay Information Full-Time Salary Range: $56401 - $95881 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
