A Brief Overview
The Vice President Provider Support Services provides executive leadership, operational support, and strategic direction for physicians, advanced practice providers, and physician leadership, including Medical Directors, Executive Medical Directors, and Clinical Vice Presidents. The role leads initiatives to improve medical group performance, provider engagement, recruitment and retention, patient access, and the standardization and integration of clinical services across the health system. The Vice President leads key strategic initiatives, including clinically integrated network (CIN) development and other multi-year programs, and identifies and advances new growth opportunities aligned with system strategy. This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Chief Medical and Quality Officer while maintaining a strong collaborative relationship with the Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer. The Vice President oversees the System Director of Physician Support. Strengthens the medical staff through recruitment and development pathways and supports NCQA-aligned processes. Partners with Compensation on fair-market-value compensation models and ensures effective financial stewardship of provider-related investments, including locum utilization.
Education Qualifications
- Master's Degree Health Care Administration, Business Administration, Health Administration or Related Field

- 5 years Experience working in a clinic environment
Required Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of health care planning and management principles sufficient to manage, direct, and coordinate health care operations. Requires an understanding of strategic and financial processes, including budgeting and project planning. Knowledge of the purpose, organization, and policies of community health systems sufficient to collaborate effectively with other health care providers. Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and other third-party payer guidelines. General knowledge of accounting practices and procedures.
What you will do
- Provide executive support and guidance to physician leaders, medical directors, executive medical directors, clinical vice presidents, and service line leadership.
- Oversee provider recruitment, onboarding, development, and retention strategies for physicians and advanced practice providers.
- Collaborate with Compensation to enhance provider compensation models that comply with fair-market-value standards and align with recruitment, retention, productivity, quality, and strategic goals.
- Partner with operational, ancillary, and clinical leaders to align medical group operations with service line and system priorities.
- Advance access, provider utilization, standardization, and practice optimization across the medical group.
- Drive data-informed performance improvement, accountability, affordability, quality outcomes, and adherence to applicable regulatory and accreditation expectations.
- Lead and execute key strategic initiatives supporting the clinically integrated network (CIN) and other system-wide clinical transformation efforts, serving as a strategy and program leader for multi-year initiatives central to organizational success.
- Oversee program development, implementation, and ongoing optimization for initiatives including care model innovation and clinical integration strategies.
- Translate strategic priorities into actionable programs, ensuring alignment across physician leadership, operations, and administrative teams.
- Identify and advance new growth opportunities for the medical group and health system, aligned with clinical, operational, and financial priorities.
- Lead the development of business cases and proposals for new services, programs, or market expansion opportunities, including financial modeling, workforce implications, and strategic alignment.
- Present recommendations to executive leadership and support implementation of approved initiatives.
- Ensure budget discipline, resource planning, and financial stewardship related to provider support, recruitment, access, and medical group strategic initiatives.
- Oversee and manage locum spend, ensuring appropriate utilization, cost containment, and alignment with recruitment strategies and long-term workforce planning.
- Partner with finance, operations, and physician leadership to optimize provider resource allocation while maintaining access, quality, and operational efficiency.
- Participate in committees, workgroups, and special projects related to provider support, medical group operations, access, quality, or strategic growth.
- Provide occasional administrative support, analysis, or communication assistance as needed to advance medical group priorities.
