The portfolio also includes wineries in France, Argentina, and New Zealand. In addition, the Foley Food & Wine Society offers members a luxury lifestyle community that celebrates culinary experiences, entertainment, and travel in the United States, New Zealand, France, and Argentina.
Requires a flexible schedule with availability to seasonally work both weekends and overtime. This position will work under the direction of the Director of Bottling Operations. Job responsibility encompasses a high level of experience in all aspects of filling, packing, and shipping wine. Helps develop and implement the department’s standard operating procedures. Is a champion of company safety policies and drives safety training program. Drives the floor culture with a high emphasis regarding wine industry GMP’s as they relate to Food Safety and HACCP. Roles and Responsibilities:
• Oversee the bottling operation including but not limited to, a fixed bottling line, mobile bottling, and special projects.
• Ensure compliance with all company and regulatory health, safety, environmental, and food safety requirements.
• Develop schedules and assignments for bottling staff to ensure optimum efficiency, safety, and quality of work to be accomplished.
• Work closely with business partners to effectively coordinate all bottling activities.
• Collaborate with maintenance to ensure preventative maintenance programs are on track and work orders are completed as scheduled.
• Provide support and training for employees; based on skill level, new processes, equipment with an emphasis on safe operation.
• Drive continuous improvement, including safety, cost reduction, performance, and quality improvement activities in bottling.
• Responsible for executing applicable company G&O’s/ KPIs, and related action plans.
• Conducts investigation efforts relative to external and internal packaging material quality utilizing root cause problem solving methods.
• Utilize the MIR (Material Incident Report) and QAR (Quality Action Report) systems to hold vendors accountable and track/action non-conforming finished goods.
• Verify effectiveness of cleaning and calibration of equipment used in bottling operations.
• Manage relevant projects, including business justification and budget oversight related to bottling operations.
• Develop, create, maintain, and enforce standard operating procedures and policies.
• Maintain all bottling physical and computerized records in a neat and timely manner.
• Audit bottling area to ensure Safety, Environmental, Health, and Food Safety standards are met.
• Interviews, hires and trains full and temporary bottling employees.
• Administer disciplinary action when required within guidelines of company policies.
• Perform special projects and implement continuous improvement programs as required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and attention to detail.
• Flexibility in schedule and working extended hours as needed.
• Ability to prioritize and respond quickly to demanding situations.
• Able to do basic math and to work well under pressure and adapt to change.
• Be reliable and have a strong work ethic and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and efficiency.
• 5S experience a plus. Experience and Qualifications:
• High school diploma is required; college degree is preferred.
• Supervisory and/or 3-5 years bottling experience required.
• Ability to utilize computer software programs including MS Access, Excel & Word.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work at moderate heights.
• Must be at least 21 Work Environment:
• Manufacturing and production environment – must be able to work in a range of temperatures and humidity (heat and cold).
• Function in environment that requires bending, stooping, standing, lifting, and climbing stairs.
• Ability to work around heavy equipment and product machinery.
