Job Title: Accounts Receivable Specialist

Job Overview:
Contemporary Staffing Solutions is seeking a Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our client to support accurate payment processing and contribute to the efficiency of day-to-day accounting operations. This temporary-to-hire opportunity is based in Philadelphia, PA and offers the chance to work closely with finance teams to ensure customer payments, vendor records, and financial transactions are maintained accurately. The ideal candidate will play a key role in resolving payment-related issues, supporting reporting activities, and helping maintain organized financial records. This position is well suited for someone who thrives in a detail-focused environment and enjoys working across multiple systems and processes.

Compensation:
$24 - $28/hour

Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities of the Accounts Receivable Specialist:

• Process and apply customer payments accurately by reviewing remittance information, payment documentation, and transaction records across multiple platforms.
• Maintain financial records and supporting documentation, including digital filing, payment tracking, and reconciliation activities.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions by establishing vendor records, processing refunds, and coordinating payment-related setup requests.
• Collaborate with internal finance teams to research unidentified payments, resolve discrepancies, and ensure funds are correctly allocated.
• Assist with recurring financial maintenance tasks, adjustments, and corrections to support accurate account balances and reporting.
• Contribute to audit readiness and month-end activities by preparing and providing payment-related documentation and transaction support.

Qualifications and Skills for the Accounts Receivable Specialist:

• High school diploma or equivalent, along with at least two years of experience in accounting support, cash applications, accounts receivable, or a related financial function.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience navigating multiple business systems and web-based platforms; familiarity with NetSuite is beneficial.
• Understanding of fundamental accounting concepts, including transaction posting and financial record accuracy.
• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to organize workload, prioritize tasks, and meet established deadlines.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to investigate discrepancies, interpret payment information, and follow through on resolution efforts with minimal supervision.
