Senior Accounting Coordinator

Job DescriptionWe have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accounting Coordinator at UL Research Institutes and UL Standards & Engagement, based in our Evanston, Illinois, office.This is a hybrid position onsite (Tuesday & Thursday) at our Evanston, IL office.The Senior Accounting Coordinator supports finance operations by processing transactions, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, maintaining documentation, and assisting with audit and close activities. We identify critical safety and sustainability issues, asking the tough questions because we believe a safer world begins with knowledge.What you’ll learn and achieve:As the Senior Accounting Coordinator, you will play a key role in the rapid growth of UL as you:Support day-to-day accounting operations by accurately processing invoices, payments, journal entries, and other transactions.Support month-end and year-end close activities, including account analysis, documentation, and follow-up on open items.Reconcile general ledger accounts, investigate reconciling items, and coordinate resolution of discrepancies.Support internal and external audit activities by preparing schedules, gathering supporting documentation, and responding to auditor requests.Collaborate with departments across the organization to resolve accounting questions, support financial compliance, and ensure transactions are recorded accurately.Perform other duties as assigned.What you’ll experience working at UL Research Institutes and UL Standards & Engagement:For the organizations across the UL enterprise, corporate and social responsibility isn’t new.
