Our organization stands as the leading academic medical center in Suffolk County, New York. The University Hospital provides cutting-edge care, particularly for individuals experiencing acute psychiatric issues. Among our services is the only Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) in Suffolk County. We are currently seeking a clinician to fill the role of Overnight Attending Psychiatrist within our CPEP.

The Clinical Assistant Professor will be tasked with conducting psychiatric evaluations and managing patients in the CPEP and Emergency Department of the University Hospital. Additionally, this role includes the teaching and supervision of medical students and residents. The overnight schedule consists of 40 hours per week, divided into four 10-hour shifts from 10:30 PM to 8:30 AM, which will include a weekend shift each week, holidays, and necessary cross-coverage. The starting salary for overnight shifts is $332,000 annually, contingent upon experience and qualifications, with eligibility for a quarterly production incentive bonus. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• MD/DO (or equivalent international degree).
• Eligibility for or possession of a New York State medical license.
• Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Adult Psychiatry.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Clinical experience with psychiatric patients in a Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program or similar emergency setting.
• Research experience in emergency psychiatry.
• Teaching experience in emergency psychiatry.
• Training in Child Psychiatry.

Special Notes

This is a Non-Tenure Track position and is classified as FLSA Exempt, meaning it is not eligible for overtime pay. To qualify for a senior faculty appointment, candidates must meet the criteria set by the School of Medicine.
