Facilities Mechanic

OverviewThe Facilities Mechanic is responsible for overseeing the operation and maintenance of the warehouse equipment as well as general facility maintenance. This position is responsible to monitor performance and implement programs to improve operational metrics.Duties and Responsibilities? Perform all preventive maintenance tasks on conveyors, automation, and other warehouse equipment? Effectively troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues? The key tasks of this position must be accomplished in a manner that supports and promotes the Zero safety incident goals? Ability to quickly grasp new PC applications ? Perform any minor building maintenance? Replaces office and warehouse light bulbs as required and instructed? Ensure proper operation of battery charger racks? Perform any minor plumbing and/or electrical repair? Perform repairs as needed on all conveyors and bar code readers? Schedule all repairs with outside vendors for major issues? Keep sidewalks free from snow, ice or other debris? Maintain facility grounds? Maintain confidentiality of all SGWS business and comply with all company rules and regulations as outlined in the employee manual? Perform other related duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications? High school diploma or equivalency plus 1 years of experiencePreferred Qualifications? Strong communication skills ? written, verbal, persuasion, motivation, facilitation of strong working relationships? Knowledge of other MS Office Suite and/or software applications related to job functions ? Excellent interpersonal, customer service, analytical/problem solving, problem management, presentation development, presentation, and communications skills? Forklift operating experience or certification preferred? Understanding of warehouse and logistics processes Physical Demands? Physical demands with activity or condition for a considerable amount of time include sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g., keyboard, mouse, and monitor) or adding machine? Physical demands with activity or condition may include occasional to rare amount of time include walking, bending, reaching, standing, and stooping? May require occasional lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 15lbs
