Job Title: General Production Worker Job Description

The General Production Worker operates automated conveyor lines and testing equipment to build and assemble high-quality pumps. This role follows detailed work instructions, supports continuous production flow, and contributes directly to meeting customer quality and delivery expectations in a modern manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate all parts of the automated conveyor line and testing equipment in accordance with documented work instructions.

• Build and assemble pumps to meet established quality, safety, and productivity standards.

• Learn and apply proper gauging techniques to measure and verify product dimensions as required.

• Move materials and parts within the cell work area to maintain efficient workflow and replenish stock as needed.

• Maintain accurate production, quality, and equipment documentation, including any required logs or reports.

• Review and understand quality alerts, and promptly report quality issues or abnormalities to the team lead.

• Repair defective or rejected production parts on a daily basis to ensure they meet quality requirements.

• Analyze defects and participate in corrective action efforts to prevent recurrence and improve processes.

• Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines while working with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, welding equipment, hand tools, and assembly machinery.

• Support team members and collaborate to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.

• Work a consistent schedule and be available to work up to 7 days per week as required by production demands.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a manufacturing environment in roles such as production worker, machine operator, or assembler.

• Demonstrated assembly experience within a manufacturing setting.

• Stable work history with strong tenure in previous production, operator, or assembly positions.

• Ability to safely lift and move up to 40 pounds, including lifting pumps and placing them at the station for stacking and shipping.

• Comfort working with production equipment such as hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, welding tools, hand tools, and assembly machinery.

• Ability to follow detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures.

• Capability to understand and respond to quality alerts and communicate issues to leadership.

• Willingness and ability to work 7 days a week when required by production schedules.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality products.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Gauge experience and familiarity with using gauges to measure product dimensions.

• Experience working in an automotive or automotive supplier environment.

• Comfort working in a high-volume production setting with various types of machinery.

• Ability to contribute to defect analysis and corrective action initiatives.

• Strong teamwork, communication, and reliability in a production environment.

Work Environment

The role is based in a newly renovated plant in Warren that has relocated from Oklahoma and supports major automotive manufacturers, including those producing pumps, valvetrain, transmission, and electric drive components and systems. The facility features a range of machines and technologies, including hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, welding equipment, hand tools, and assembly machinery. Production runs on structured shift schedules, with 8-hour shifts (1st shift: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, 2nd shift: 3:00 PM–11:30 PM, 3rd shift: 11:00 PM–7:30 AM) and 10-hour shifts (1st shift: 5:00 AM–3:30 PM, 2nd shift: 3:00 PM–1:30 AM), and employees must be able to work up to 7 days a week based on production needs. The environment is typical of a modern manufacturing plant, with a focus on safety, organization, and continuous production. Steel-toe footwear is required, and the company supports this with an allowance; safety glasses, ear plugs, and gloves are provided to ensure proper personal protective equipment is used at all times.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Warren, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.50/hr.
