Job Summary Works under the supervision of a Radiation Oncologist to perform tumor localization and administer radiation therapy. Possesses knowledge of ionizing radiographic and radiation therapy equipment, human anatomy, and patient positioning. Performs CT simulations, ensures patient safety, and adheres to departmental policies. Participates in quality improvement activities, maintains workflow, and resolves treatment issues. Demonstrates excellent technical and communication skills, building relationships with staff, patients, and families. Upholds NYS licensure, ARRT registration, and BLS certification. Core Responsibilities Administers prescribed radiation doses accurately under the radiation oncologist’s guidance. Positions patients precisely using image guidance and creates immobilization devices. Performs daily QA on equipment and verifies treatment plans before delivery. Mentors students and new staff, ensuring efficient team collaboration. Communicates effectively with the multidisciplinary team, identifies patients correctly, and maintains confidentiality. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology program (Bachelor’s or AAS accepted). Current NYS licensure in Radiologic Technology Radiation Therapy.
