Job Description

Join our dynamic Assembly team as a skilled professional responsible for constructing boats, watercraft, or marine vessels. You will play an integral role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our products by assembling, fitting, and installing various components with precision.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work orders to assemble boats.
• Assemble various boat components, including hulls, decks, cabins, bulkheads, and other structural elements.
• Ensure proper alignment and fitting of components using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Perform quality checks throughout the assembly process to identify defects and collaborate with the quality assurance team.
• Adhere to safety protocols and report any safety concerns or incidents to supervisors.
• Collaborate with other team members, technicians, engineers, and designers to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth workflow.
• Maintain and care for assembly tools, equipment, and machinery and report any malfunctions.
• Complete assigned tasks within specified time frames to meet production schedules.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Identify and troubleshoot issues during the assembly process and implement appropriate solutions.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety guidelines, and quality standards.
• Maintain accurate records of assembly processes, inspections, and modifications.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or 1+ years of related experience and/or training.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to interpret and understand instructions given verbally or written.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.

• Physical dexterity to perform tasks involving bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
• Basic reading comprehension and writing skills.
• Ability to remain focused and organized with high attention to detail.
• Familiarity with Materials Resources Planning (MRP) software and systems.
• Marine experience preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods.

Work Environment

The role is based on the shop floor, which is non-climate controlled with fluctuating temperatures. Employees are frequently exposed to high temperatures, especially during summer months, and must wear safety glasses and personal protective equipment. The work environment involves moderate noise levels with intervals of spikes and exposure to moving mechanical parts, resins, fiberglass dust, epoxy, and other chemicals. Employees must have steel toe boots and be capable of walking or standing for extended periods.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Edgewater, FL.

The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Edgewater,FL.
