Lead Sign Installer — $25–$35/Hour

Forward Signs is hiring an experienced Lead Sign Installer to join our growing team.
We are looking for someone who can take ownership of commercial sign installations from start to finish, lead an installation crew, solve problems in the field, and produce quality work without needing constant supervision.
Pay: $25–$35/hour based on experience and capabilities.
What You’ll Do
- Lead commercial sign installations and service calls
- Install channel letters, raceways, illuminated cabinets, wall signs, monument signs, post-and-panel signs, dimensional lettering, and other commercial signage
- Operate bucket trucks, boom lifts, scissor lifts, and other installation equipment
- Read installation drawings and accurately lay out signage
- Install signs on a variety of building surfaces
- Perform basic LED, power supply, wiring, and illuminated sign troubleshooting
- Lead and train installer helpers
- Verify signs, hardware, tools, and equipment are loaded before leaving for jobs
- Communicate with project management when field conditions or installation issues arise
- Maintain clean and organized trucks, tools, and equipment
- Take required job-site and completion photos
- Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and property managers
- Complete installations safely, correctly, and efficiently

- Can run an installation without constant supervision

- Can think through problems and make good decisions in the field
- Understands that measurements and details matter
- Takes care of company trucks, tools, and equipment
- Can lead and train a helper
- Communicates problems instead of hiding them
- Works safely while maintaining production
Preferred Experience
Experience with any of the following is a major plus:
- Channel letters
- Illuminated signs
- Monument and pylon signs
- Bucket trucks
- Boom and scissor lifts
- Basic electrical troubleshooting
- Welding and fabrication
- Commercial construction
- CDL / commercial truck experience
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to safely work at heights
- Ability to lift and maneuver signs, ladders, tools, and installation materials
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Reliable transportation
- Professional attitude when dealing with customers and contractors
Compensation
$25–$35/hour
Starting pay will be based on experience, skill level, and ability to independently lead commercial sign installations.
Candidates with extensive sign installation experience, CDL, electrical knowledge, welding/fabrication skills, or experience operating bucket trucks and lifts may qualify toward the top of the range.
