Customer Service Specialist

Chip Theory Games is looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Customer Support Representative to join our team approximately 20 hours per week.

This role is a great fit for someone who genuinely enjoys helping people, solving problems, and providing excellent customer service. Youll spend most of your time assisting customers through our ticketing system, researching issues, coordinating replacements or order changes, and making sure customers receive clear and helpful answers.

A note about the role: Chip Theory Games is a game development company, but this is a customer support position, not a game design or game development position, and it is not intended as a pathway into those departments. Were looking for someone who will enjoy and take pride in customer support as their primary role.

What Youll Do

• Customer Support: Monitor, prioritize, and respond to customer support tickets, including periods of higher ticket volume.
• Problem Solving: Research customer questions, troubleshoot issues, coordinate replacement parts or products, and identify appropriate solutions.
• Order Assistance: Process and accurately document refunds, replacements, order changes, and cancellations.
• Documentation: Maintain clear and accurate records of customer interactions and resolutions.
• Knowledge Base: Use internal training materials, policies, and help articles to provide accurate and consistent information.
• Front Office Support: Greet visitors, vendors, and guests who arrive at the office.
• General Office Support: Receive, sort, and distribute mail and packages and assist with basic office tasks as needed.

What Were Looking For

• Strong Written Communication: You can write clearly, professionally, and conversationally, with good grammar and attention to tone.
• A Customer-Service Mindset: You genuinely like helping people and working through problems until theyre resolved.
• Patience and Empathy: You can remain calm and helpful when a customer is frustrated, confused, or disappointed.
• Attention to Detail: Youre comfortable keeping track of order information, customer histories, replacements, refunds, and other details.
• Organization: You can manage multiple open requests and keep a ticket queue moving within reasonable response times.
• Comfort With Technology: Youre comfortable learning new software and systems. Experience with customer support or ticketing software is helpful, but not required.
• Reliability: Youre punctual, dependable, and able to handle customer and company information appropriately.

Previous customer service experience is helpful, but were also open to candidates who have the communication skills, judgment, and temperament to be great at the role.

Schedule & Compensation

• Approximately 20 hours per week / 40 hours per pay period
• Compensation will be based on the candidates experience and qualifications.
