Public Private Portfolio Assistant Property Manager

Unit: Teamster Department: Asset Management Grade: 8A Salary Range: Starting Salary: $64,049.72 Posting Date: Wednesday, August 19, 2026 General Description: Under the supervision of the Public-Private Portfolio Property Manager, the Public-Private Portfolio Assistant Property Manager will be responsible for a variety of office-related tasks. Will assist the Public-Private Portfolio Property Manager with property management activities such as but not limited to rent collection, unit turnover, work orders, fiscal planning, property management and resident relations for one or more developments totaling no more than 500 units. Duties & Responsibilities: Performs a wide-range of general office duties, including filing, collection of data, answering telephones and on-site inquiries, recording messages, filling in forms and requisitions and all other office related duties. Responsible for certifying/recertifying all households as required by the regulatory agreements or other related agreements as well as BHA procedures. Assists with lease package and supplemental documents for new move-in. Posts initial rent, rent changes, rent receipts and accounts payable into BHA Elite property management system. Prepares notices for lease violations and assist in the eviction process. Conducts move out inspections in conjunction with maintenance staff, monitors the preparation of vacant units, and schedules apartment showings for new residents. Reviews inventory and maintenance purchases and services to be performed by vendors Records work order requests from residents by entering requests into BHA's Elite Work order system, fills out work order logs, and maintains work order database in On-Base electronic filing systems. Performs rent collection-related activities including reviewing daily collections, holding private conferences related to rent collection and attending grievance hearings and/or court regarding rent collection issues. Performs unit and building inspections in coordination with maintenance staff and related activities by participating in and successfully completing inspection training, compiling and preparing forms related to inspection, notifying tenants of scheduled inspections, conducting inspections according to predetermined standards, completing inspection summary reports. Assists Property Manager in budget preparation, financial management, and assists wi_th completion and submission of all required financial and compliance reports. Assists Property Manager with procurement and processing of invoices. Performs other duties incorporated in the Housing Manager Ill job description. Minimum Qualifications & Experience: High School Graduate or GED required Associates Degree and/or business course preferred with three years of related work experience. Previous work experience of comparable responsibility and competence may be substituted for education qualifications. Must be able to develop strong organizational and management skills. Must demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel. Self-motivated, flexible and detail oriented. Must possess strong interpersonal skills.
