Clinical Pharmacist I - Nights - Mercy San Diego

Position Overview Full-time Clinical Pharmacist I position with 10-hour night shifts, 7 days on followed by 7 days off, at Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego. Includes $4,000 retention incentive and $3,000 relocation assistance to eligible new hires. Responsibilities Primarily operation focused centrally based; participates in direct patient care as clinical competencies are approved and on approved shifts. Documents the care provided to patients. Supervises the drug distribution operation: responsible for assuring safe and effective alternatives as appropriate. Contributes to the accomplishment of initiatives to improve the cost-effectiveness of drug therapy. Routinely communicates with physicians, nurses, and patients regarding drug therapy. Demonstrates ability to provide age-specific patient care as established for area and job title. Demonstrates ability to perform competencies and perform activities as outlined in the Pharmacist Authorities policy. Provides pharmaceutical care according to standards established by Scripps Health Pharmacy, to assigned group of patients. Reviews and evaluates individual drug orders for appropriateness, safety, and cost. Retention Incentive Eligibility Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter) Must remain in original department/specialty Must remain in original Job Title Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter. Ineligibility Criteria Internal candidates Rehires that left Scripps less than 3 years ago Candidates with less than 1 year of experience Qualifications Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills: BS Pharmacy or Pharm.D. Degree Required Certification/Registration: California Pharmacist License AHA BLS ACLS certification required prior to being trained to respond to codes, can be obtained within 6 months of hire Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification: PGY1 residency or 3 years' experience in relevant practice area. #J-18808-Ljbffr
