Speech and Language Pathologist (Sub-Separate Programs)

The Speech-Language Pathologist supports students in sub-separate programs, evaluating and treating speech, language, and communication needs while embedding communication strategies across the school day. This role centers on AAC device implementation, coaching program staff, and ensuring that communication accommodations and strategies are followed with fidelity. The SLP partners closely with teachers to modify curriculum, plan and design intervention, and build robust communication systems into daily routines so students can access learning and participate meaningfully.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and provide direct intervention for students in sub-separate programs
• Support AAC device implementation, including device setup, programming, and daily use across settings
• Coach and train program staff on communication strategies, AAC modeling, and accommodations
• Review and strengthen classroom communication systems for consistency and accessibility
• Monitor that communication strategies and accommodations are implemented with fidelity
• Collaborate with teachers on goal writing and data collection
• Partner with teachers to modify curriculum and co-plan intervention aligned to instructional content
• Complete evaluations, IEP/504 sections, quarterly progress reports, service documentation and related portions of the IEP
• Participate in IEP team meetings
• Bring strong interpersonal and public speaking skills, creativity, a sense of humor, and flexibility across caseloads, age groups, and scheduling

Qualifications Required:

• Master's Degree
• Current Massachusetts DESE licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist, with SEI endorsement or dual certification in ESL
• Current Massachusetts Board licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
• Experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a public school setting
• Experience assessing all school-age children in a public school setting
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
• Familiarity with evaluating students who are English Language Learners

Qualifications Preferred:

• Experience supporting AAC implementation in self-contained or sub-separate settings
• Experience completing AAC evaluations

Physical Demands:

• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices, and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
