Legal Receptionist

Location Portland, OR Salary $70,000 - $85,000 (DOE) Overview Our client, a well‑established law firm in Portland, OR, is seeking a polished and experienced Legal Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for clients and visitors. This role requires a high level of professionalism, discretion, and strong administrative support experience within a legal environment. Key Responsibilities Greet clients, visitors, and vendors in a professional and welcoming manner Manage a high‑volume, multi‑line phone system; screen and route calls appropriately Schedule and coordinate attorney calendars, meetings, and conference rooms Maintain front office operations, ensuring organization and efficiency Assist with legal administrative tasks including document preparation, filing (electronic and physical), and mail distribution Handle incoming/outgoing correspondence, including courier and certified mail Support attorneys and legal staff with overflow administrative duties Maintain confidentiality of sensitive client and firm information Qualifications 5+ years of experience as a legal receptionist or in a law firm front‑desk role Strong familiarity with legal terminology and law office procedures Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) Experience with legal software or case management systems preferred Highly organized with strong attention to detail Ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast‑paced environment Professional demeanor and client‑focused mindset Preferred Experience in a mid‑to‑large law firm environment Exposure to multiple practice areas (e.g., litigation, corporate, family law) Equal Employment Opportunity Statement All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
