School Social Worker - Urbana, IL

Qualifications and Experience:

• Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) required
• Valid School Social Worker certification (or eligibility to obtain) in Illinois
• Previous experience in a school-based or educational setting preferred
• Strong knowledge of behavioral intervention strategies and crisis response
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
• Passion for advocating and supporting diverse student populations
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct counseling services and interventions for students facing social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
• Conduct assessments to identify student needs and coordinate appropriate supports
• Develop, implement, and monitor individualized service plans
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to promote positive student outcomes
• Facilitate student groups and classroom presentations focused on social-emotional learning
• Serve as a resource for mental health awareness and crisis prevention
• Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with school and district policies
