Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D) position is located in Austin, Texas. This contract role involves providing specialized nursing care in the Labor and Delivery Department of a busy healthcare facility. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of the assignment. The position entails working a 12-hour night shift, with schedules self-managed within a highly engaged team environment.

Job Details:

• Location: Austin, Texas
• Shift: Nights, 12 hours (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Schedule: Nights, 36 hours per week minimum
• Required Qualifications: Current certification in Advanced Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) / AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring, at least 2 years experience in high-risk obstetrics nursing, and 3 years experience in high-risk obstetrics. Certifications include Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Basic Life Support (BLS), AWHONN Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI).
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Placenta Accrete Spectrum Disorders (PASD), Massive Transfusion, and procedures such as C-sections, spontaneous vaginal deliveries (SVD), and other obstetrical interventions.
• Additional Information: The unit is a Level III maternal designation and Level II neonatal, with a history of joint commission accreditation. The team is highly engaged, working in a self-scheduling environment, with a good mix of experienced staff and newer nurses. The department offers a positive and team-oriented atmosphere with excellent physician engagement.
