RN - Emergency Department (ER/ED)

Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital is seeking an RN for the Emergency Department (ER/ED). This travel position requires 1-2 years of recent experience. Certifications required include ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC (preferred). The shift is 36 hours weekly, 11a-11p or potentially a 1p-1a, with weekend rotations. Scrub color is wine. On-call requirement is no. Required skills include rapid assessment, triage, trauma management, and advanced life support in various medical conditions. Expert in IV access and other interventions.

The start date is 08/24/2026, and the end date is 11/23/2026, for a duration of 13 weeks. The shift is day, 3x12-hour (11:00 - 23:00).

Submission process requires a candidate profile (work history), specialty specific skills checklist, minimum 2 manager/charge references (within past year), RN license verification (NURSYs pulled within 2 days of sub date). A copy of all required certifications must be included in the submittal packet. Full file due by noon Thursday prior to start date. Insufficient documentation will result in a 1-week start date push. Orientation is held every other Monday. All required information must be included at time of submittal. SSN and DOB required at time of submittal. RTO must be included at time of submittal. Minimum 2 years RN experience required. WV or Compact License required; pending license accepted for submission. Candidates must have a permanent address 100 miles from the facility. Candidates between 75-100 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis at the same rate. Minimum 2 manager and/or charge nurse references from the past 2 years required. Required certifications must be listed on the application at time of submittal. BLS, ACLS, and PALS (if required by the unit) must be through the American Heart Association (AHA). Previous probationary actions on a license will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from last permanent employment date before returning as a traveler. Current Vandalia Health System employees (perm, PRN, etc.) are not eligible for travel contracts within the health system. Charting: CERNER Modules Required: Non-billable.
