Standardized Patient Coordinator - AZ - Clinical Skills and Simulation Center Job Category : Staff Requisition Number : STAND004439 Employment Type : Full-Time Job Location : Arizona Campus, 19555 N 59th Ave., Glendale, AZ 85308, USA Overview This individual will serve in a coordination role for the Standardized Patient (SP) Program at the Midwestern University – Glendale campus. The position reports to the Standardized Patient Program Manager of the Clinical Skills and Simulation Center – Glendale. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist in the recruitment, training, and orientation of Standardized Patients. Monitor SP performances, including all aspects of case portrayal, such as delivering details, affect, fidelity, and physical simulation. Observe videos of SPs for quality assurance to ensure standardization and implement retraining or removal as needed. Oversee the SP database and attendance, and assist in the preparation and monitoring of inventory needed for clinical education activities involving Standardized Patients. Serve as backup for the administration and support of SP payroll, including data entry and timely submission of documents. Communicate SP schedules and reminders via Outlook. Resolve or report SP or student issues to the SP Program Manager. Attend department meetings as requested. Communicate effectively and handle challenging or confidential matters with the utmost professionalism; work professionally with varied faculty and standardized patient trainees. Perform other duties or projects assigned by the SP Program Manager or Center Director. Qualifications Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously. High-level customer service skills with ability to provide flexible and responsible solutions to difficult situations. Ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with standardized patients, administration, staff, and peers. Ability to work independently with limited supervision as well as in a team. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality when necessary. Professional attitude and demeanor at all times. Flexibility to occasionally adjust schedule to meet departmental needs, including working late or coming in early. Education and Experience High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. 5–7 years of coordination, office support, or teaching/training experience required. Knowledge of and experience working with standardized patients preferred. Experience working in a team and a customer service–oriented environment. Computer Skills Proficiency in database management and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher). Language, Reasoning, and Mathematical Ability Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to apply common sense to instructions. Intermediate mathematical skills to perform basic calculations and interpret data. Physical Demands Requirements include occasional standing, walking, using hands to handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, sitting, talking, hearing, and lifting or moving up to 20 pounds. Work Environment Moderate noise level typical of a training environment.
