Therapy - RRT Profession: Respiratory Services Specialty: Therapeutic Treatment Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM Experience: 0-2 years clinical experience with a minimum of 6 months critical care required License: Registered Respiratory Therapist Certifications: BLS - Basic Life SupportACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life SupportPALS - Pediatric Advanced Life SupportNRP - Neonatal Resuscitation ProgramNBRC-RRT - Registered Respiratory TherapistRCP - Respiratory Care Professional Must-Have: Ability to communicate effectivelyStrong critical thinking skillsAbility to establish and maintain working relationships with healthcare professionalsFamiliarity with computer systems and databases Description:The Respiratory Therapist II is responsible for medication administration and implementing respiratory care based on expanded knowledge and experience.This role involves complex patient care situations with a focus on critical care areas.The therapist will manage protocol ventilator care with significant independent decision-making.In addition to patient care delivery, the therapist will provide education to patients and their families or support systems.Responsibilities include documenting care, coordinating activities, and participating in staff development.The role requires an understanding of the biological, emotional, and psychosocial needs of patients.The therapist also assists in educating new employees and training peers.Core responsibilities include performing patient assessments and collaborating with healthcare teams.The therapist verifies orders and administers medications, including aerosolized treatments and oxygen therapy.Ventilator management and airway management services are key functions of this role.The therapist performs arterial blood gas sampling and analysis.Safety and quality in the work environment are emphasized, promoting accurate documentation and adherence to safety protocols.The therapist promotes performance improvement initiatives and evidence-based practices.Additional duties may be assigned as needed. #J-18808-Ljbffr
