Host/Hostess Position

We are looking for hard workers and individuals that are passionate about delivering excellent service to our customers. As a Host/Hostess you will be directing the customers to their tables and providing them with their menus in a friendly and professional manner.

Dukunoo Jamaican Kitchen is Wynwood, Miami's first and only full-service, upscale Caribbean dining experience. The restaurant features indoor and outdoor dining, a full bar, fine art, and an authentic jerk stand outside by the Terrezza. Our customers, "Come fi di food but stay fi di vibes".

The Host/Hostess is responsible for making a great first impression and must be able to provide excellent customer service even in stressful situations.

Main Ingredients of the Job:

The ideal candidate will be eager to perform the following tasks:

• Help servers wipe down tables, reset the tables and run food.
• Deal with difficult customers with composure and professionalism.
• Problem solve in a timely manner (i.e. sorting out double-booked reservations)
• Handle reservations and waitlist.
• Practice excellent phone etiquette when making reservations by phone, which must be done with accuracy and in a timely manner.
• Need to be knowledgeable about the menu and must be able to answer customers' questions about allergies and dietary restrictions.

What You Bring to the Table:

• High school diploma or GED
• Basic written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Accuracy and speed in executing tasks.
• Ability to work as a team member.
• Guest relations/service experience
• Positive attitude and interpersonal skills
• Open Table and Cash Handling
• Customer Service
• Phone Etiquette
• Flexibility when working alternating shifts
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
