Systems Administrator

1547 Critical Systems Realty is seeking a Systems Administrator II to support and administer a growing national technology real estate and colocation environment. This full-time hybrid role will manage Microsoft 365 and Windows endpoints, provide network and end-user support, automate routine work with PowerShell, and contribute to SOC 2, PCI, and security compliance activities. The ideal candidate is a hands-on IT professional who can work independently, maintain clear documentation, and support a 24x7 operational environment. Responsibilities: Administer the Microsoft 365 environment, including user provisioning, licensing, group and policy management, and troubleshooting across Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID, and Intune. Manage and support Windows endpoints through Intune, including device enrollment, compliance policies, application deployment, patching, and hardware lifecycle activities. Provide first-line support for network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, wireless networks, VPNs, and related connectivity issues; elevate complex issues with complete documentation. Support the connectivity and health of IT-connected building systems across data center sites, including building management systems, cameras, access control, and wireless infrastructure. Execute employee onboarding and offboarding activities, including account setup, equipment provisioning, application access, and access removal. Provide direct technical support to on-site and remote employees, resolving incidents where possible and escalating issues appropriately. Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate provisioning, reporting, and routine administrative tasks. Create and maintain runbooks, configuration records, knowledge base articles, and other IT documentation. Assist with SOC 2 and PCI compliance activities, including evidence collection, access reviews, change management, and security procedures. Support vendor coordination, IT procurement, and hardware lifecycle management as assigned. Participate in occasional off-hours maintenance windows and incident response activities in support of a 24x7 operational environment. Requirements: Associate or bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. At least three years of information technology experience, including hands-on systems administration. Experience administering Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), and Intune. Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPNs. Experience supporting firewalls, switches, and wireless infrastructure, including solutions from vendors such as Cisco and FortiGate. Experience supporting Windows desktop and server operating systems, endpoint deployment, and hardware lifecycle management. PowerShell scripting experience for administrative automation and reporting. Familiarity with SOC 2 Type I and II (SSAE 18) standards and experience working in a regulated or compliance-driven environment.
