Opportunity:


RN - Labor and Delivery


Job Details:


• Provide care for Labor & Delivery and Postpartum patients including vaginal and C-section deliveries, with occasional overflow hysterectomies
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:3-4 couplets with CNA support of 2-3 per shift
• Minimum 2 years of Postpartum RN experience required
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Required certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), BCR (Basic Cardiac Rhythm - must pass EKG competency exam), ACLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring
• Strong clinical assessment and Mother Baby skills required for Level 1 Trauma Hospital setting
• Proficiency in IV insertion and care, central line management, and care coordination with interdisciplinary teams required
• EMR system: EPIC
• IV Pump: Alaris; medication dispensing via Pyxis; monitors: Phillips
• Unit-specific equipment includes VS3 vital sign monitors, Nova Glucose Stat Strips, cardiac telemetry monitoring, portable vital signs monitors (Dynamapp), PCA pain management, bladder scanners, portable oxygen system, Glucommander, and suction machine
• May be required to float to all adult med-surg and telemetry units in-house
• Scrub color: L&D surgical green with scrub exchange system


Facility:


This facility is a large acute care hospital with 637 licensed beds holding a Level 1 Trauma Designation and operating as a teaching hospital. The facility includes a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center, offering comprehensive specialty services. The Labor & Delivery unit is supported by 24/7 hospitalist, intensivist, and respiratory therapy coverage, along with a Central Telemetry Unit, PICC team, discharge nurses, and a resource team that floats to all units.
