Position Summary
The Warehouse Assistant / Shop Runner supports daily field operations by maintaining warehouse organization, managing material flow, and ensuring timely delivery of parts and equipment to job sites. This position plays a critical role in keeping technicians productive and jobs running on schedule.
The ideal candidate is punctual, dependable, detail-oriented, and maintains a clean driving record.
Key ResponsibilitiesWarehouse Operations- Receive, inspect, and stock incoming HVAC and plumbing materials
- Maintain organized shelving, inventory areas, and staging zones
- Assist with inventory counts and restocking
- Prepare daily job materials and equipment for field crews
- Track and label materials accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within warehouse and yard
- Deliver materials, tools, and equipment to job sites
- Pick up parts from supply houses and vendors
- Assist technicians with material loading/unloading
- Transport equipment between branches or project locations
- Return unused materials and ensure proper documentation
- Operate company vehicles safely and professionally
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections
- Maintain cleanliness of company vehicle
- Follow all DOT and company driving policies
- On-time attendance daily
- Accurate and organized material handling
- Safe driving with zero preventable incidents
- Strong communication with field teams
- Maintain clean and orderly warehouse environment
Requirements
Required Qualifications- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift 50–75 lbs repeatedly
- Strong punctuality and attendance record
- Basic understanding of hand tools and construction materials
- Ability to follow directions and work independently
- Professional appearance and attitude
- Prior HVAC, plumbing, or construction warehouse experience
- Forklift experience (certification a plus)
- Familiarity with local supply houses
- Basic inventory management experience
- Frequent lifting, bending, and standing
- Ability to work in warehouse and outdoor environments
- Exposure to heat, cold, and construction site conditions
