Dentistry - Dental Hygienist

Job Summary (List Format):


- Position: Dental Hygienist
- Location: 10 Richland Medical Park Drive, Columbia, SC 29203 (Richland Hospital Campus, Dentistry 10 Med Park Suite A)
- Work Schedule:
- Total Hours: 39 hours per week
- Days: Monday-Friday
- No weekends
- Shift Times:
- Monday-Thursday: 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM
- Friday: 7:30 AM - 12:30 PM
- Closed on major holidays



Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine dental prophylaxis (cleanings) and remove hard/soft deposits and stains from teeth.
- Polish all surfaces of teeth.
- Apply topical fluoride.
- Expose and develop dental radiographs.
- Provide oral hygiene instruction, education, and counseling to patients.
- Provide nutrition and dietary counseling.
- Review and record patient medical and dental histories.
- Take and record patient blood pressure.
- Chart dental disease.
- Schedule, make, and confirm patient appointments.
- Train dental hygiene students with minimal supervision.
- Utilize Epic Wisdom for charting and charge entry.
- Access storage areas and perform procedures involving medications (as needed).
- Maintain compliance with Prisma Health values: compassion, dignity, excellence, integrity, and teamwork.



Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Dental Hygiene (required).
- SC Registered Dental Hygienist license (required).
- 1 year of dental hygiene experience preferred, but not required.
