Maintenance Engineer

Hotel Barrière is looking for qualified and hardworking maintenance workers interested in coming in on the ground floor of a brand-new hotel in Tribeca. All staff will be required to obtain the certificate of fitness for fire guards, and fire safety coordinators. The training, course and test fees will be paid for by us. We are looking for enthusiastic persons to join that we may train and build with to gain experience in the hotel hospitality industry. Please respond with the desired position you are looking for. To be successful in this role, you should be a quick decision-maker and efficient enough to handle demanding situations. You should have excellent knowledge about health and safety standards.

Responsibilities - Inspects assigned area on a routine basis and performs maintenance where necessary to keep the facility in functioning and serviceable condition - Completes daily, weekly, or monthly checklists of pre-scheduled building and equipment maintenance procedures - Repairs various fixtures and hardware such as doors, windows, minor appliances, office equipment, etc. - Reports any major maintenance needs and recommends corrective action as appropriate - Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures - Other duties and tasks as assigned by the manager

• Previous maintenance experience preferred
• Two or more years of hotel experience strongly suggested (with a 4-year degree); three or more years of experience if no degree
• Knowledge of mechanical systems and site maintenance
• Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and concentrate on detail in a fast-paced work environment
• Must be able to follow basic safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks
• Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
• Requires occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
• Capable of coordinating facility issues and responding from offsite via phone and email, occasionally including after hours and weekends

Hôtel Barrière Le Fouquet's is hiring for a Maintenance Engineer Position in SoHo, New York City. Base pay starts at $30/hr.
