Safety Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable Safety Assistant to support daily safety operations on an active construction site in Santa Teresa, NM. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial construction environment.

As a Safety Assistant, you will work closely with the site Safety Team to help coordinate PPE, safety supplies, documentation, signage, and safety-related logistics. This is a hands-on support role with a strong focus on organization, communication, and keeping safety resources available and accessible for daily jobsite operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide daily logistical and administrative support to the site Safety Team.
- Organize, maintain, distribute, and restock PPE, safety supplies, and safety-related materials.
- Monitor inventory levels, receive incoming supplies, and communicate replenishment needs.
- Prepare materials for safety meetings, orientations, training sessions, and site safety activities.
- Maintain safety records, forms, sign-in sheets, packets, signage, and other documentation as directed.
- Support general jobsite safety logistics while following all company and site-specific safety procedures.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay range: $25 to $35 per hour.
- Location: Santa Teresa, NM 88008.
- Work style: On-site.
- Duration: 1 year.
- Start date: September 28, 2026.
- End date: September 26, 2027.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Coordinate PPE, safety supplies, and safety materials for daily construction site operations.
- Maintain organized safety storage areas, inventory records, forms, and jobsite documentation.
- Support safety meetings, orientations, training sessions, signage updates, and administrative tasks.
- Communicate supply needs, site organization issues, and logistical updates to the Safety Team.

- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1 or more years of relevant work experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Ability to work fully on-site in an active construction environment.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to follow instructions and support team members in a safety-focused environment.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities in a fast-paced jobsite setting.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move supplies or materials throughout the workday.

Preferred Qualifications

- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Candidates without OSHA 30 may receive company-provided training to obtain the certification.
- Previous experience in construction, warehouse operations, inventory management, administrative support, safety support, material handling, or supply coordination.
- Familiarity with common construction PPE and safety supplies.
- Experience using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
