Program Manager

The Program Manager, K-12 is responsible for developing, launching, and leading a comprehensive nationwide K-12 market program that aligns all Cook & Boardman companies, products, services, and capabilities into a unified go-to-market strategy. This role serves as the subject matter expert and program leader for K-12 opportunities, creating scalable processes, playbooks, partnerships, and sales strategies that enable branch teams to consistently identify, pursue, and deliver K-12 business opportunities. The Program Manager will coordinate efforts across all divisions and business units, including Division 8 products and services, electronic security solutions, life safety solutions, and aftermarket services. The position will drive adoption across the enterprise by supporting branches, providing training, developing tools and resources, and ensuring a consistent approach to the K-12 market nationwide. Essential Functions Develop and execute a comprehensive national K-12 market strategy. Build and maintain a complete catalog of K-12 solutions, including: Commercial doors, frames, and hardware Electrified hardware Access control systems Video surveillance systems Intrusion detection systems Life safety and code compliance solutions Automatic operators Fire door inspection and compliance programs Service and maintenance programs Managed services and recurring revenue opportunities Create standardized playbooks, sales tools, process guides, and best practices that can be utilized by all branches. Identify and document approved vendors, manufacturers, contract vehicles, cooperative purchasing programs, and other procurement sources relevant to the K-12 market. Develop market intelligence regarding school construction, bond programs, capital improvement projects, renovation cycles, and security initiatives. Partner with branch leadership and sales teams to expand K-12 market penetration. Support strategic pursuits, large opportunities, and national K-12 programs. Establish and maintain relationships with key manufacturers, consultants, architects, school districts, educational associations, and industry partners. Coordinate training initiatives to improve K-12 market knowledge across sales, operations, estimating, specification, and project management teams. Assist branches with opportunity qualification, strategy development, presentations, and customer engagement. Track program performance, adoption, pipeline development, and revenue growth metrics. Develop and maintain strategic account plans for key national K-12 relationships. Facilitate communication and collaboration between branches and supporting business units. Serve as the company's primary internal resource for K-12 market expertise. Travel throughout the United States to support branch teams, customer meetings, conferences, and strategic initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Engineering, Education Facilities Management, or related field; or equivalent industry experience. Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial construction, Division 8, security integration, facilities management, or related industries. Demonstrated experience developing programs, processes, or strategic initiatives across multiple locations or business units. Experience working with educational facilities, public sector projects, or K-12 institutions preferred. Ability to travel up to 50%. Work Environment This job operates in both a professional office and warehouse environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. May occasionally require driving to project sites. Conditions will include proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery and using various tools and hardware. Subject to frequent heavy lifting. May be exposed to variable weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures.
