Job Title: Assembler Job Description

This role focuses on assembling mirror components for the bus and trucking industries on a 1st shift schedule. You follow detailed blueprints, use a variety of hand and power tools, read precise measurements, and perform visual inspections to ensure each finished product meets quality standards. You may work in any of the four stages of assembly, contributing to a smooth and efficient production process.

Responsibilities

• Follow detailed blueprints and digital prints to assemble mirror components accurately.

• Use hand and power tools such as screw guns, impact guns, torque guns, drills, and pneumatic pin routers to complete assembly tasks.

• Read and interpret a tape measure to the 1/16th of an inch to ensure precise measurements and fit.

• Perform visual inspections on finished pieces to verify quality and proper assembly.

• Participate in any of the four stages of assembly, including head assembly, motor plates, attaching arms, installing motors, attaching harnesses, mounting brackets, testing, and installing mirrors.

• Work with digital schedules and computer-based documentation to manage daily tasks and production flow.

• Stand for the duration of the shift and repeatedly lift up to 30 pounds while handling materials and components.

• Support production needs by working on Fridays as required to meet operational demands.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures in a manufacturing environment.

Essential Skills

• Experience using hand and power tools, including screw guns, impact guns, torque guns, drills, and pneumatic pin routers.

• Ability to read a tape measure to the 1/16th of an inch, with measurement skills tested during the interview process.

• Ability to read and follow prints and blueprints accurately.

• Computer literacy, including comfort working with digital blueprints and schedules.

• Ability to stand for the entire shift and repeatedly lift up to 30 pounds.

• Demonstrated reliability with at least 1 year of tenure or longevity with past employers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous assembly experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred.

• Comfort working with general labor tasks in addition to assembly duties.

• Attention to detail and strong quality focus when inspecting finished pieces.

Work Environment

The role is based in a manufacturing facility that is not climate controlled, so temperatures vary with the seasons. Work is performed on 1st shift, Monday through Thursday, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with additional hours on Friday as needed, averaging approximately 8 hours when Friday work is required. The environment is hands-on and fast-paced, involving regular use of hand and power tools, standing for the majority of the shift, and lifting up to 30 pounds repeatedly. Dress is typical for a manufacturing setting, with practical, comfortable work attire suitable for operating tools and working around machinery.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elkhart, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
