SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST (11 month) – School Year 2026-2027 Starting Date: Immediately Location: To be determined Job Summary: Provide speech language services to students with speech and language disabilities. Reports To: Director and Supervisor(s) of Special Education Qualifications Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology Maryland License in Speech Language Pathology Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills Knowledge of speech and language disabilities and appropriate therapy strategies. Diagnostic skills in speech and language development. Ability to administer speech and language assessment instruments. Ability to write evaluation reports and IEPs. Knowledge of Special Education and the IEP process. Knowledge of Medicaid billing process. Knowledge of educational and psychological assessments. Knowledge of general education curriculum. Ability to maintain rapport with diverse groups. Interpersonal skills working with parents, professionals, students, teachers, administrators, and community representatives. Demonstrated success in similar tasks. Essential Job Functions Administers speech and language assessments to students. Writes evaluation reports based on assessment results. Provides individual and group speech and language therapy as prescribed. Consults with classroom teachers. Observes students and provides screening information to IEP team. Attends IEP meetings. Develops IEPs and writes goals and objectives. Maintains data and provides quarterly progress reports. Submits monthly Medicaid billing forms and therapy documentation. Participates in parent conferences and team meetings. Demonstrates initiative and self-regulation. Maintains organizational skills and professionalism. Positive interaction with others. Punctual attendance. Works flexible hours as required. Manages high‑stress situations and meets all requirements. Travels between schools as required. Other Job Duties Performs related work as required or assigned by the Director of Special Education. License or Certification Current Maryland Licensure in Speech Language Pathology. Physical Demands Requires significant periods of standing and walking in a typical school environment. Unusual Demands May have flexible work schedule. FLSA Status Exempt. Terms of Employment Eleven (11) month position; salary commensurate with qualifications and experience per the Calvert County Public Schools salary schedule for teachers.
