Typically, tasks are completed using an RF scanner, step ladders, conveyor systems, and sortation walls. The Material Handler position incorporates several subtitled roles: for example: repacker, order selector, picker, checker, packer, sorter, skip chaser, labeler, box maker; and can be located in departments throughout the distribution center including receiving, replenishment, retail pick/decant, ecommerce pick, retail put-to-store, ecommerce pack/sort, shipping, and quality assurance.The Material Handler is a champion of Ulta Beauty's mission, vision, and values, and should demonstrate them skillfully and consistently by performing the following duties and responsibilities of the position (as well as all other projects/duties as assigned):Performance:Accurately picks and packs orders using established work practicesRestocks picking bins with product brought from reserve storage based on warehouse management system reportingAccurately sorts, counts, and receives all merchandiseMoves product to and from pallet racks with powered material handling equipment such as pallet jacksWorks with conveyors to accurately build pallets of cartons to ship outLoads or unloads trucks, sorting and labeling product as neededOrganizes warehouse storage space effectivelyWorks in a clean and orderly manner at all timesUses a RF scanner/hand scanner to direct work (pick, pack, receive, move)Use of sortation walls and conveyor systems to complete daily tasksMeets safety, productivity, and quality standardsDemonstrates flexibility in daily task assignments and performs other general warehouse tasks, as assignedPeople:Establishes professional peer and brand partner relationships that foster a shared interest in collaboratively delivering exceptional guest serviceUses basic interpersonal skills in accomplishing tasksPartnering with Operations Manager when barriers exist that slow down workAttends mandatory trainings and meetings to enable continuous professional developmentWorks effectively in a team environmentProcess:Knowledgeable of and ensures compliance with Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standardsAdheres to the Ulta Beauty dress codeProtects company assets by following loss prevention best practices and providing exceptional guest serviceFollows all safety guidelines and standards to ensure a safe working environment, including hazard recognition, housekeeping, accident and near miss reporting, proper use of all safety equipment and procedures, and adherence to all safety rulesExecutes other operational tasks as directedAdheres to established attendance, quality, and production standardsFollows instructions quickly, safely, and accuratelyEffectively communicates, understands oral instructions, reads and interprets documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, in EnglishJob Qualifications:Education:High school diploma or GED; 1 year or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceExperience:Previous relevant experience is preferredSkills:Ability to work independently and as part of a teamKnowledge of RF (radio frequency) scannersBasic computer skillsMust be reliable and dependableBasic math skills including the ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply and divideAbility to perform multiple tasks at the same timeSpecial Position Requirements:Work a flexible schedule to include mandatory overtime during the week and/or weekend as well as holidaysMust be at least 18 years of ageWorking Conditions:Constant exposure to loud noisesOccasionally work in elevated platformsExposure to variable temperaturesExposure to dusty environmentMay be exposed to strong scents related to cosmetic or fragranceMay be required to work in narrow aisles or trailersMust wear cut resistant gloves when box cutters are usedIf an associate has a disability that prevents them from performing an essential function of the job, the Company will engage in the interactive process with the associate to determine whether there is a reasonable accommodation that will enable the associate to perform the essential functions of the job.The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00 / Hour. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs.
