Principal Category Supplier Manager, Construction Micron Technology is a global leader in memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence. This role is responsible for driving the construction category and supplier relationships for all global construction projects, acting as the primary point of contact for assigned construction suppliers. Responsibilities Engage external architects, design firms, construction management, and general contracting companies. Lead and participate in negotiations for construction contracts, incorporating savings targets and contract requirements. Perform commercial supplier qualification activities to ensure strategic supplier development. Resolve supplier performance and capability issues, ensuring alignment with Micron’s strategic direction. Communicate key supplier management updates to multiple levels, including Executive Leadership. Lead or participate in sourcing events and the RFQ process. Develop a contract strategy for each project, including negotiation, supervision, and implementation of contractual terms. Ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled by both Owner and Contractor through contract administration. Collaborate with Global Facilities and site teams to assess supplier performance. Own and lead overall strategic supplier relationships for the construction category. Develop and supervise supplier performance metrics and key performance measures. Lead strategic supplier events such as Quarterly Business Reviews, Annual Supplier Evaluations, and Executive Review Meetings. Participate in supplier segmentation and strategic goal setting. Provide market intelligence and price trends to internal partners on a schedule. Apply should‑cost models for assigned categories benchmarked against the global marketplace. Serve as subject‑matter authority for construction procurement and share knowledge with internal and indirect teams. Collaborate with suppliers and support a culture of continuous improvement. Support travel requirements for domestic and international projects (up to 25% travel). Qualifications Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Construction Management, or a related field followed by 5 years of progressive post‑baccalaureate experience, or a Master’s degree followed by 3 years of relevant experience. Construction, construction management, or contracting experience (AIA, FIDIC, and bespoke contracts). Leading multiple large‑scale projects. Construction contract negotiation, execution, and administration. Construction procurement tendering, supplier sourcing, qualification, and selection. Proficiency with P6 software reports and scheduling tools. Knowledge of project management methodologies. Change order management, contract terms, and category management. Experience with construction software tools such as ProCore, BlueBeam, Adobe Construction Cloud, or other platforms. Experience using SAP suite of software related to supply chain, finance, and procurement disciplines.
