Overview Position Overview: The Shift Leader is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the store in partnership with the General Manager or the Assistant General Manager. The Shift Leader ensures the team understands goals, expectations, products, cleanliness, new directives and guest connections during the shift. Core Responsibilities Demonstrates mastery of the DOING of Team Member with enthusiasm and excellence Lead shifts focused on team engagement and guest satisfaction with a commitment to Make Fun Happen Think strategically about maximizing product sales and waste management Demonstrate total store vision and ownership of the store’s look and feel Be knowledgeable about the deployment for the day and the roles and responsibilities Communicate effectively on the floor during the shift Anticipate the needs of the team and guests and address situations before they become problematic Understand multiple shift priorities and effectively communicate and delegate objectives and tasks Take ownership for the current shift and the shift that follows Ensure the team executes SOP and quality standards consistently Coach and give feedback to team members to bring their best DOING and BEING to their role Train the team on role responsibilities, product knowledge and promotions Perform administrative tasks with integrity and completion (e.g., bank deposits, inventory, store product orders) Develop Team Members and discuss career and professional growth Bring Core Values to life: Support One Another, Make Fun Happen, Be Yourself, Take Ownership, Serve With Love Own impact on others and manage how you show up Demonstrate confidence and decision-making as the Manager on Duty Remain resilient under pressure and stay calm in critical moments Lead with joy, serve guests, and engage with the community Be of service and create success for others Show enthusiasm and curiosity as a subject matter expert and help others grow Demonstrate humility and curiosity to lead a diverse group and seek growth Provide powerful feedback and coach for commitment, not just compliance Take ownership for making a positive impact on others Foster an inclusive and inspiring culture on every shift Own your own development and seek feedback and growth opportunities Skills and Qualifications Required: At least 1 year of leadership, restaurant, retail or customer service experience, or properly trained and approved by Caribou Coffee to assume Shift Leader responsibilities Ability to work early mornings, evenings, some holidays and/or weekends Must be at least 18 years of age Preferred: High school diploma or GED equivalent A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Physical Requirements The physical requirements for this position include hearing, speaking, seeing, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, and standing for 4 to 8 hours, with or without reasonable accommodations. Compensation Range: $12.75 - $21.25 per hour Starting pay is subject to Local and State Minimum Wage regulations.
