Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Rotating Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: - Minimum 2 years of acute care BMT/Hematology experience required. - Will consider candidates with 1.5 years of experience. License: - Current RN License, either Colorado or Compact. Certifications: - AHA BLS. - ONC Certification preferred. Must-Have: - Experience in chemotherapy administration. - Comfort with flexible staffing ratios and floating between units. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) within a dedicated unit. The nurse will care for patients with blood cancers receiving chemotherapy, biotherapies, and cellular therapies. Responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions and administering treatments. A strong understanding of acute tumor lysis syndrome, graft-versus-host disease, and other oncology-related conditions is essential. Candidates must be comfortable managing a variety of symptoms, including nausea, vomiting, and alterations in mental status. The unit comprises 51 beds, and the nurse may float to similar units as needed. Interdisciplinary collaboration is key to providing comprehensive care. Weekend shifts are required based on unit needs. Nurse-to-patient ratios may vary based on staffing levels. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to handle situations such as administering blood products and managing central lines. Experience with Epic charting is a significant advantage. The role involves direct patient interaction and requires excellent communication skills. Flexibility in scheduling is critical to meet patient care needs.
