About the Position

Locums General Surgery coverage in Vermont with 24 hour call only, covering the surgical floor and ED with a 30 minute response time. Short blocks of coverage are needed starting late 2026.

Highlights

• Call only coverage, 24 hour call for General Surgery
• MUST be able to cover these days: Nov 30 (7am)-Dec 3 (7am); Dec 24 (7am)-Dec 28 (7am)
• Onsite orientation required the day before the first shift, 4 to 6 hours
• Full backup support staff, with the exception of GI
• Will wait for license for physicians with an active IMLC LOQ

Practice Setting

• Inpatient General Surgery coverage, includes surgical floor and ED
• Adult patient population
• Case mix is bread and butter General Surgery
• Rural hospital setting, volume TBD

Schedule

• 24 hour call only coverage
• Call includes coverage for the surgical floor and ED
• 30 minute response time requirement
• Onsite orientation required the day before the first shift, 4 to 6 hours

Cases and Procedures

• Bread and butter General Surgery cases
• Upper and lower scopes preferred, not required

Requirements

• Must be an MD or DO
• Board Certified in Surgery
• Vermont license required, will wait for license with active IMLC LOQ only
• DEA required
