Description:

The Machine Operator will be responsible for performing various tasks to set up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on assigned machines. The Machine Operator will also be responsible for inspecting parts to specifications and adjusting, or tool changes as necessary to maintain quality specifications.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up and operate production machines following established procedures.
• Perform pre-operation checks to ensure proper equipment startup and operation.
• Adjust machine settings and perform tool changes to maintain quality standards.
• Operate and monitor multiple pieces of equipment to ensure continuous production and minimal downtime.
• Read and interpret blueprints and diagrams for machine setup.
• Troubleshoot issues and perform routine maintenance.
• Conduct quality control checks, maintain records, and report problems to the supervisor.
• Comply with all safety and health regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness of machinery and work area.
• Cross-train in other machine centers (Sort Line, Finger Joint, Press, Finish, CNC).
• Assist with training new or junior machine operators.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to safely operate equipment
• Ability work in a fast-past environment and adapt to flexible schedules, including weekends and overtime
• Attention to detail and commitment to product quality

Preferred:

• Previous experience operating machinery in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Familiarity with hand tools and production processes
• Experience reading blueprints or technical diagrams
