Mid-Level Industrial Water Process EngineerArcadis' Industrial Water Treatment and Optimization (IWTO) team is seeking a mid-level Industrial Water Process Engineer with 5+ years of consulting engineering experience to contribute to our expanding portfolio of industrial water and wastewater related design projects. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:Function as the process engineer on industrial water/wastewater projectsApply processes and technologies for physical/chemical primary treatment, biological treatment, membrane treatment, adsorption, filtration, disinfection, thermal evaporation and crystallizationReceive technical mentoring and guidance from a senior process engineerDelegate engineering or scientific calculations/drawings to junior staffCollaborate with multi-disciplinary design teams to implement complex treatment solutions, and support implementation of projects from study phase through design, construction, startup and commissioning, and operation and maintenance of treatment systemsThis is a hybrid work position. Client facilities and projects are located throughout the US, with some international assignments. Preferred locations include Houston, Dallas, Raleigh, Indianapolis, Minneapolis, Tampa, Denver, and Philadelphia; however, other locations may also be considered.Assist in developing and preparing process design drawings, specifications, calculations, plans, and other technical deliverables for a variety of industrial water projects,Field work will be required, including but not limited to, surveys/data gathering, construction quality assurance, inspections, bench- and pilot-scale treatability testing (at client sites or in our lab in Cary, NC), etc.Assist with system commissioning and start-up, including training plant staffPrepare and make presentations to clients and for professional meetingsManage projects as necessary to meet both client and Arcadis' expectationsSupporting business development including proposal preparation and meetings with clients, and travel as needed for meetings, site visits, etc. (up to 25%)Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical EngineeringMinimum of 5 years of progressively increasing responsibility in the industrial water/wastewater fieldValid driver's licenseMaster's degree or PhD in engineering or a related field of study with focus on wastewater treatment process engineering7+ years of experience as a professional engineer registration in one or more statesPossess a good understanding of different types of industrial wastewater treatment systemsDesigning water and wastewater projects and preparing construction documents including mechanical drawings, P&IDs, specifications, control narratives, technical reports and memoranda, operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals, etc.Engineering calculations using computer software (Excel, Mathcad, etc.)Experience writing and editing equipment and piping specificationsEffective collaboration and coordination within a multi-disciplinary project environmentProvide mentorship to early career engineersWe can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best. The salary range for this position is $76,110 - $114,165.Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
